Who I am
This website is run by Vladimir Proskurin, trading as VladPro IT Services, Watford WD17 4LP. In this notice “I” and “me” mean VladPro IT Services. For anything about your personal data, email [email protected] or call +44 (0) 789 789 1401.
What I collect and why
| What | When | Why, and the legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address, phone number, message, and your address if you add it | When you send the contact form | To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote: steps you ask for before a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries |
| Your number or email address and what you write | When you call, email or message me on WhatsApp | To reply and to do the work you ask for: the same basis |
| Your contact details, the device, the work done and the invoice | When I repair something for you | To do the job, honour the warranty and keep tax records: contract and legal obligation |
| Your IP address, browser and the pages you request | On every visit | To keep the site secure and working: blocking spam and attacks, and limiting how often the form and the article buttons can be used. Legitimate interests |
| Pages viewed, how you arrived, rough location (country or city), device and browser type | While analytics is on (see Cookies below) | To see, in total, which pages are useful and improve the site. Legitimate interests |
| A name you choose, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address | Only if you play the game on the error page and enter its leaderboard | To run the leaderboard and stop cheating. Legitimate interests |
I do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
Who else handles it
These companies process data for me, under my instructions:
- Google Cloud (Google LLC) hosts this website, on servers in the United States.
- Cloudflare, Inc. delivers the site, protects it from attacks, and runs the check on the contact form that confirms a person sent it (Cloudflare Turnstile).
- IONOS provides the email service for [email protected], which sends the messages the contact form produces.
- Google Analytics (Google) produces the site statistics, with advertising features and Google signals switched off.
If you message me on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to that service.
Transfers outside the UK
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK government recognises as giving adequate protection.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not become a job: 12 months after the last message.
- Job and invoice records: 6 years, for tax.
- Web server logs: 14 days. Security logs: up to 30 days.
- The scrambled IP address used to limit the form and the article buttons: from 1 hour to 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Analytics data: for the period set in the Google Analytics account, never more than 14 months.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This site uses these:
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_GW5WJN5XGF | Google Analytics | Site statistics | Up to 2 years |
vp-analytics | This site | Remembers that you turned analytics off | 1 year |
cf_clearance, __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Security: shows that your browser passed Cloudflare’s checks. Set only when a check runs | 30 minutes |
The game on the error page saves your progress in your browser’s own storage (vp404.game), only if you play. Nothing else is stored on your device.
UK law allows statistics cookies like Google Analytics’ without asking first, as long as you are told about them and can switch them off. Switch them off here:
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stays off automatically. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to or limit how I use it, and ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere. Email [email protected]; I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
